Rugby starts younger than most families expect. Our youngest Rebels play touch rugby with their hands, learn to pass, and spend an hour running around with kids from every school nearby. That is the whole job at this age.

Where your kid fits

U8
7 and under
Touch only, hands only
Rugby's front door. No tackling at all. One hour, twice a week.
U10
9 and under
Touch to tackle
Skills first, contact introduced gently. 90 minutes, twice a week.
U12
11 and under
Touch to tackle
Where real rugby clicks. 90 minutes, twice a week.
Coed across all three age groups. Age is set by where your child sits on September 1. One continuous Fun & Fundamentals season, October through April, and you register once.

Is it safe? The honest answer.

  • Contact is taught, never rushed.New players start non-contact. Coaches group kids by size and experience rather than running one big drill and hoping.
  • Recognize and Remove. If in doubt, we sit them out.We follow USA Rugby concussion protocol and CDC Heads Up guidance, with a minimum 14-day rest for youth.
  • SafeSport governs every coach and every adult.USA Rugby SafeSport rules apply club-wide, and parents are welcome at every session.
